[UPDATE: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT, NO JUMMUAH THIS FRIDAY (Feb. 27 2015)
Due to President’s Day holiday (Feb. 27), the University will be closed. Hence, please note that there will be NO Jummuah prayer service at Concordia University this week, for both the downtown and Loyola campus. It will be resumed for the week after.
We invite all students to pray Jummuah at Masjid al-Salam on Stanley street (1232 Rue Stanley) or al-Madina Center on MacKay street (1260 Rue Mackay).
Masjid al-Salam: 1st at 1215pm, 2nd at 1pm
Al-Madina Center: 1st at 1215pm, 2nd at 1pm
Every Friday, weekly congregational prayers, required by the Islamic faith, are offered by the MSA. These prayers are obligatory for all Muslim males, and high encouraged for Muslim women. Therefore, our Friday prayer services attract an average of 800 members of the university’s students, faculty and staff.
They have proven themselves to be of signal importance for the MSA, especially as many students do not find the time to leave campus between classes so as to fulfill this specific religious obligation. Thus, the MSA allows students to balance, adequately, academic and religious requirements.
